About MotorBytes

MotorBytes exists because the tech of personal mobility was scattered across a dozen sites. Drone news lived on photography blogs, motorcycle electronics got a paragraph at the end of gear roundups, and electric two-wheelers fell somewhere between the car press and bike forums. If you ride or fly, those stories belong in one place. This is that place.

What we cover

  • Drones & UAV: consumer and professional drones, FPV, and the FAA and EASA rules that decide where you can actually fly them.
  • Motorcycle Tech: rider aids, electronics packages, and connected gear from Honda, BMW Motorrad, Ducati, and the rest.
  • Electric Vehicles: electric motorcycles, e-bikes, and micro-mobility, including the charging questions spec sheets don’t answer.
  • Gadgets & Tech: action cameras, helmet comms, GPS, and the devices that ride along.
  • Buying Guides: comparisons built from spec sheets and documented owner feedback, not sponsorships.
  • Industry News: funding, recalls, regulation, and the forces reshaping how people get around.

How we work

MotorBytes is research-based. We build articles from manufacturer documentation, regulator filings, and owner reports rather than hands-on testing, and we say that plainly instead of implying a garage full of review units. Every spec and price is checked against a named, linked source before publishing. When we get something wrong, we correct it in the article and date the correction. The full process, including how we use AI tools and why no manufacturer pays for coverage, is in our editorial policy.

Who’s behind it

MotorBytes is written and edited by Alex Chen, who has tracked drone regulation and electric-motorcycle development for years, somewhat more closely than is probably healthy. Every article carries his byline, and every correction lands on his desk.
